The Aligarh Muslim University Teachers Association has come down heavily on Akhilesh Yadav government for its handling of Muzaffarnagar riot victims saying its approach on the issue was "shocking" and "inhuman".
"Principal Home Secretary Anil Gupta's statement that no one can die of cold in the relief camps is not only a blatant lie but has rubbed salt on the wounds of thousands of riot victims who are presently languishing in relief camps," AMUTA secretary Aftab Alam said at a special meeting called by the association yesterday.
The AMU teachers described Uttar Pradesh government's approach on the issue as "shocking" and "inhuman".

The association has demanded that the Congress led UPA government instead of playing politics should directly intervene in the matter and discharge its constitutional responsibility toward the people of the state in view of the state government's alleged failure to fulfil its responsibility.
