Amway inaugurates Vocational Centre

In a bid to create sustainable livelihood and facilitate skill building, Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF), the CSR arm of Amway India Enterprises Pvt Ltd, today unveiled a vocational centre in Tailoring for less privileged children at a village near here.

The initiative will provide training to the students of Palli Unnayan Seva Samiti (PUSS) at Naharkanta village in tailoring and sewing and help them build their income generating skills and empower them economically.

Christened AOF -PUSS Vocational Centre in Tailoring, the project will not be just a vocational training Centre for students of PUSS. It would also provide womenfolk of Naharkanta and neighbouring villages an opportunity to develop their skill in sewing and as a result create a sustainable livelihood for them as well, a release here said.
 

The AOF-PUSS Tailoring Centre was inaugurated by Panchanan Das, Secretary, Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

The Vocational Centre in Tailoring houses 15 sewing & tailoring machines and would provide training to 150 students and village women in the first batch.
