Recalling how some people had wondered why he would cast the same two principal characters in 'Bedroom' even after they were in the eye of storm for a 'You Tube' clip two years back, 'Maach Misti More' director Mainak Bhowmik says the dusky Bong beauty's reference even surfaces in Take One.
"Besides physical abuse, a contemporary woman is trapped in many other ways. She faces jibes and queries about late coming from workplace. Like the 'baptism of fire' by Sita in Mahabharata, even every present day woman goes through the same 'Agnipariksha' in different situations day in and day out," Mainak told PTI about Take One.
Coming to the real life you tube clip leak two years back, Mainak said, "She (the actress) was a strong, resilient woman and I was on her side."

"When the controversy was at its high, some holier-than-thou people had wanted me to remove her and the co-actor from the cast of my next film which shows the prudishness of Bengali society. But why should I!," Mainak said.
"Take One does not necessarily centre on the controversy involving Chhatrak clip leak, it talks on issues like why society owes explanation from a woman about whatever she does, emerging out from the drawn parameters. Who will draw the Lakshanrekha," he said.
Wondering why the society must confuse the actor self of female stars with their personal lives, the lead actor in 'Take One' Swastika Mukherjee said, "I sometimes think if I had turned out to be the enfant terrible daughter of my ever-gentle conformist dad by taking the plunge into cinema."
"Even as we name one actor with reference to Take One theme, hasn't there been other films apart from Chhatrak! Hadn't the thing having taken place in her case, unwarranted comments, might have hurt other female actors too!"
She said each and every actress would identify and connect with the angst a woman passes through, the way she is frowned upon and her act dissected most blandly in public domain, The Sita on cross image in 'Take One' is a metaphor which is not solely referred on a footage clip and attendant furore.
Take One, produced by Friends Communication, will be released by this month.
