Actress Ana de Armas has joined the cast of the "Blade Runner" sequel.

The 27-year-old "Knock Knock" actress will share the screen space with Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling, reported Variety.

"Sicario" helmer Denis Villeneuve is directing the movie.

The screenplay, penned by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green and continues several decades after the conclusion of the 1982 original, which was set in a dystopian 2019 Los Angeles.

The original film, based on the 1968 Philip K Dick novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep," starred Ford as an ex-police officer tracking down escaped genetically engineered replicants who return to Earth illegally in order to extend their four-year life spans.

Principal photography on the sequel is scheduled to begin in July.

The untitled film will hit the theaters on October 6, 2017.
