Cyberabad Police today registered a criminal case against the top management of Andhra Bank here on a complaint by an account holder that he lost his gold ornaments in an incident of burglary at the Ghatkesar branch.

In his complaint, Narasimha Reddy, who had mortgaged 250 gram of gold with the bank, has alleged the management didn't take any security measure and hence his gold was stolen, said Ghatkesar police station inspector B Prakash.

In the burglary, that took place between February 13 and 14 when the bank was closed, over 70 tolas (700 grams) of gold ornaments were stolen from one of the three shelves in strong room, he said.

Narasimha's jewellery was among the stolen gold items, Prakash said.

Following the complaint, a case was registered under sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of IPC against the top management, the inspector said.
