Andhra Govt giving top priority to minority welfare: Minister

Andhra Pradesh Government was giving top priority to welfare of minorities for which it has allotted a sum of Rs 751 crore, Minority Welfare Minister P Raghunatha Reddy today said.

He was speaking after inaugurating a Muslim community hall along with Excise Minister K Ravindra here.

"Our Government was giving top priority to minority welfare. In the last Budget, a sum of Rs 751 crore was allotted for welfare of minorities, which was higher than allocation made by other states," Raghunatha said.

He said 30,000 acres of Wakf lands had been encroached of which nearly 5,000 acres freed by the TDP Government.
 

Raghunatha announced sanctioning of Rs 50 lakh for construction of a building for Muslim community in Machilipatnam.
