Andhra minister from Telangana meets Prez

Andhra Pradesh Minister of Major Industries J Geetha Reddy today met President Pranab Mukherjee and narrated to an alleged incident here in which she was pushed in the presence of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy.

"Being a lady we have been insulted. We have been pushed while the Chief Minister was watching us and this is something unacceptable. He is disrespecting womanhood. He is disrespecting the whole of people of Telangana," she told reporters after meeting Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Reddy was part of a delegation comprising state ministers and MPs of Congress from Telangana region which called on the President to stress the need for a carving out the separate state.
 

Geeta Reddy had yesterday, broken down while narrating her alleged manhandling by securtiy personnel at Andhra Bhavan where she went to meet Chief Minister to request him not to visit Jantar Mantar where anti-Telangana protest was going on.

She had alleged the CM was a mute spectator when security men were pushing the delegation, which had gone to meet him.

TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao also met the President and requested him to get the Telangana Bill passed.
