Andhra Pradesh government will soon announce its sports policy with a view to encourage sports and create infrastructure, state Human Resources Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said today.
"The government will soon bring sports policy for the state. Government has also prepared a master plan to create best infrastructure for different sports and develop AP as a sports hub," Rao said while inaugurating the three-day Shriram Properties National Inter-District Junior Athletics Meet (NID-JAM) at Diamond Jubilee Port stadium here.
He said the government will construct a sports complex at Madhuruwada in the district on the lines of Gachibouli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, while it envisages to construct stadiums in every Assembly constituency.

All measures should be undertaken to promote sports in the state, even at the mandal-level of tribal areas of Visakhapatnam to train tribal children in archery. On the same lines, youth from the fishermen community should be encouraged for swimming, he said.
The three-day event is being conducted for boys and girls of Under-16 and Under-14 age groups. Nearly 3,600 athletes and around 600 coaches from 300 districts across the country are taking part in the meet.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is likely to witness some of the events this evening.
The NID-JAM 2015 Championships will feature a total of 30 events in both track and field.
