The Vietnam National University of Education (VNUE) has selected Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University (AU) Prof G S N Raju for its 'Lifetime Achievement Award 2015'.
The Hanoi-based university has given the award to Raju in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of education and research, Rector of VNUE Prof Le Kim Long has said in a certificate sent to the Indian professor, a recipient of several awards in the past.
Addressing a press conference here today, Raju expressed happiness over the honour bestowed on him by the foreign varsity and informed that VNUE's Long has showed interest in taking up collaborative programmes with the AU.

"With a comprehensive higher education management, the University has created an impressive cultural community, a harmonious academic environment and providing high quality human resources to meet the developmental needs of society," Raju said.
The Vice-Chancellor also announced that a six-month diploma course in soft skills would be shortly introduced in the Visakhapatnam-based university.
Soft skills will enable students with a strong conceptual and practical framework to build, develop and manage teams, he said.
"They (soft skills) play an important role in development of students' overall personality, thereby enhancing their career prospects."
The diploma course will cover topics like leadership, communication & management skills and personality development, Raju added.
