Actor Andy Serkis is to star in stealth adventure game Volume, announced developer Mike Bithell.

The 50-year-old 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' star will play villain Guy Gisborne, CEO of Gisborne Industries, in the game's story adaptation of Robin Hood, reported Daily Mirror.

Serkis joins Danny Wallace and Charlie McDonnell in the game's cast.

Created by Bithell, Volume combines Metal Gear Solid-style top-down stealth with player-generated stages, allowing people to play community levels in place of the game's default story missions.

Players cannot kill in the game, and so must use their Ricochet device to control enemies, steal loot and edit the environment.

Volume will be available in early 2015.
