ANI reporter killed in avalanche near Manali

Kullu based reporter of Asian News International (ANI) was killed today in an avalanche near Ralha nallah between Solang and Rohtang pass.

Prem Thakur (30) was hit by an avalanche on road this afternoon while on a shoot for a news story on snow, official sources said.

His body was recovered from snow after massive search operations lasting five hours by Border Roads Organisation (BRO), they said.

Karan, who accompanied Thakur for the shoot, had a narrow escape as he was standing at a slight distance from the location where the avalanche struck.

The members of BRO team, who were clearing snow on the road at a distance from the spot, immediately rushed to avalanche and started the rescue operations.
