Anika Noni Rose joins thriller 'Assassination Nation'

Anika Noni Rose has been tapped to star in the thriller "Assassination Nation" as the mother of the characters played by Abra and Suki Waterhouse.

Rose, 44, will portray an attractive woman with terrible taste in men, who has an unfortunate reputation in the conservative town of Salem, reported Variety.

"Assassination Nation" follows four teenage girls in a small suburb who become the focus of unwanted, world-wide media attention after their personal information is leaked by an anonymous hacker. Odessa Young and Hari Nef play the two other teenagers.

Sam Levinson, whose credits include "Another Happy Day" and HBO's upcoming "Wizard of Lies", is directing from his own screenplay.
 

Rose won a Tony Award for her role in "Caroline, or Change". She recently starred in the BET series, "The Quad" and will next be seen in the Warner Bros. Film, "Everything, Everything.
