Anil Dhiman to be BJP nominee for Bhoranj assembly by-poll

Anil Dhiman will be the BJP candidate for Bhoranj (reserve) assembly by-election slated for April 9.

The seat was vacated following demise of BJP's Ishwar Dass Dhiman, who won from this seat six times in a row from 1990 onwards and Anil is his son.

The state election committee of BJP had sent four names to the high command for party ticket but Dr Anil was always a front-runner as he carries the legacy of his father, known for his honesty and service to the people.

The state election committee of Congress has sent a panel of nine names for the seat and the High Command is yet to announce its candidate.
 

Notification for by-election was issued on March 14 and March 21 is the last date for filing of nomination.

Scrutiny of the nominations would be take place on March 22 and the last date for withdrawal is March 24.

The polling would be held on April 9 while counting of votes would take place on April 13.

There were 75,719 voters in Bhoranj Assembly segment including 37514 male and 38205 female voters.
