As the Opposition clamour for Railway Minister P K Bansal's resignation grew louder, a Congress leader today came out in the open demanding his removal, saying "morality has reached its lowest ebb".
The "PM should follow the same yardstick for his ministers as did Sonia ji in the case of J B Patnaik, Ashok Chavan & Shashi Tharoor", Anil Shastri, a special invitee to Congress Working Committee, on the microblogging site Twitter.
Shastri's reference was to Gandhi's sacking of Patnaik and Chavan as Odisha and Maharashtra Chief Ministers respectively and Tharoor as a Union Minister. Tharoor has since made a comeback in the government.

"It's difficult to believe that Lal Bahadur Shastri was Railway Minister once upon a time. Morality has reached its lowest ebb", he said in another tweet in an obvious reference to Shastri quitting as Railway Minister following an train accident.
With the government under attack over a number of scams, Shastri tweeted, "Govt's omissions & commissions have brought the efforts of Sonia ji & Rahul ji to naught.
