Animal carcass found in park in East Delhi

In a third such incident, an animal carcass was found in a park in Khichripur of East Delhi causing minor tension in the area merely two kilometers from Trilokpuri, which recently witnessed communal clashes.

Police was informed about the incident around 8 AM yesterday that an animal carcass was found in a park near Block-1 of Khichripur. The PCR call sent policemen into a tizzy and soon senior officials along with heavy security force reached the area.

"Timely intervention by the police saved the day as the locals had gathered in the area and began sloganeering with some workers of a political party also reaching the spot," a local resident said.
 

A case has been filed with Kalyanpuri police station against unidentified persons in this connection, a senior police official said.

Large number of security personnel have been deployed in the area and elders of the communities have also been roped in to maintain peace.

The incident place two days after the Bhajanpura incident where a severed animal head was found near a local hotel. A similar incident also occurred a few days back in Okhla.

Bawana and Trilokpuri had also witnessed communal flare ups last month.
