Anirudhha Kumar appointed director of SJVNL

State-run SJVN Ltd today said that Anirudhha Kumar has been appointed as part-time government director of the company replacing Arun Kumar Verma.

"Ministry of Power vide its order dated October 19, 2015 has nominated Anirudhha Kumar, Joint Secretary (Hydro), Ministry of Power, as part time Government Director on the board of the Company in place of Arun Kumar Verma, Joint Secretary (Hydro) with immediate effect," SJVN Ltd said in a BSE filing today.

Somany Ceramics Q2 net up marginally to Rs 10.65 crore * Somany Ceramics today reported a marginal increase of 1.42 per cent in its standalone net profit to Rs 10.65 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.
 

It had posted a profit of Rs 10.50 crore in the same period last year. The company's total income also increased 8.07 per cent to Rs 405.63 crore during the July-September quarter against Rs 375.33 crore a year ago.

IIL adds manufacturing unit in Telangana * Hyderabad-headquartered biological company Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) has added a new state-of-the-art facility at Karkapatla, Ranga Reddy District, in Telangana.

This unit at Phase III of Genome Valley, Karkapatla is IIL's second manufacturing unit in Hyderabad. It will provide direct employment to 150 and indirect employment to 300 people.

"The new facility has been established to manufacture vaccines against infectious diseases of humans & animal health formulations catering to domestic as well as international markets," IIL said in a statement.

Droom launches in Chandigarh

* Droom, country's online marketplace for used and new automobiles and auto-related services, announced its launch in Chandigarh today.

This launch marks the expansion of the company in Punjab region and local sellers and buyers will now be able to transact on Droom's platform for buying and selling any automobile including bikes, cars and even planes, a company release said here.

Marking its entry into the new market, Droom has tied up with Uber in Chandigarh for 'Supercars on Demand' that would give Uber riders an opportunity to ride the cars of their dream, the release said.
