Actor Anna Friel has been roped in to star in a drama about a transgender child, titled, "Butterfly".
The 41-year-old actor will play Vicky, the mother of Max, a child who opts to lead his life as a girl at home and decides he does not want to hide it, reported BBC.
It will be a three-part mini-series made by ITV.

Talking about the show, channel head of drama Polly Hill said, "'Butterfly' is a beautiful story about a young boy on the cusp of puberty who doesn't feel comfortable in his own body."
She added that it was a heartwarming and emotional script about "one boy's search to be recognised for who he really is".
"Butterfly" will be penned by Tony Marchant, who has previously tackled issues such as ADHD ("Kid in the Corner"), adoption ("Bad Blood) and fertility ("The Family Man").
