Annual camel festival culminates with 'heritage walk'

Heritage walk emerged as a new attraction for tourists at the annual camel festival here as the event culminated today amid colourful performances.

The walk started at 8.30 AM from historic Rampuria Havelis and culminated at Bikaji ki Tekri amid folk artists performing and rush of foreign tourists to capture every moment in their cameras, said secretary Lokayan Sansthan, Gopal Singh Chauhan.

Competitions like tug of war, rural style wrestling, turban tying, camel milking, camel dance among others marked the event.

The tourists also relished the sweets and traditional food items, Singh said.

Camel festival in Bikaner is an annual event dedicated to the 'ship of the desert', wherein camels are beautifully bedecked, forming colourful spectacle.
