The police today filed charge sheet in a local court naming as accused mafia brothers Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamant in the murder case of another estranged associate.
While the brothers and 14 others were named as accused of kidnapping and murdering their estranged associate Dipu Mallick in a charge sheet filed last month, this time the police accused the brothers and four others of kidnapping and murdering another estranged associate Om Prakash Swain.
The police claimed that the arrested Dhalasamant brothers with the help of others had kidnapped Dipu and Om from the city on November 12, 2013, lynched them to death at a nearby farmhouse before disposing of the bodies in neighbouring Jharkhand. Police have also charged all the accused with destruction of of evidence.

The investigating officer submitted the charge sheet in Om murder case running into more than 400 pages before the local SDJM court after investigating the case for over four months and examining at least 59 witnesses.
Police have slapped as many as 19 cases against the mafia brothers earlier this year and charge sheets in all of them, barring a tender fixing case, have been filed so far. After framing of charges, trials in two cases are likely to begin from next week.
