NCP president Sharad Pawar on Monday asked the state government, in which his party is also a constituent, to chalk out employment generation and career guidance programmes targetting Scheduled Caste (SC) youths.
Addressing a meeting organised by the Social Justice department, Pawar underlined the need for launching such comprehensive programme.
NCP MLA and Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde said at least three lakh student will be given employment- oriented training under the Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Centre (BARTI).
"A special cell will be set up in Mantralaya (state secretariat) for addressing grievances of the hearing-impaired people. Similarly, a centralised canteen will also be set up for social justice department on the lines of the tribal welfare ministry," he added.
