There was no let up in the maximum and minimum temperatures with both remaining above normal levels for this time of the season.
While the maximum was recorded at 40.7 degrees Celsius, the minimum settled at 32.6 degrees Celsius. Both maximum and minimum temperatures are five degrees above normal for this time of summer.
Humidity, which oscillated between 45 and 62 per cent, added to the misery of residents.
It has been an extended summer for Delhiites as the south-west monsoon missed its date with the capital. The normal schedule for onset of monsoon in the city is June 29.
The monsoon is now likely to hit the capital by this weekend and extend till the beginning of next week.

During monsoon, if the city gets 645.7 mm rains it is considered normal for the capital, MeT officials said.
