Temperature settled at 40.8 degrees Celsius, up from yesterday's 40.6 degrees and two degrees above normal.
The minimum was recorded at 28.4 degrees Celsius, up from 27.2 degrees Celsius and three degrees above normal for this time of the season, the MeT office said.
Hot winds blew through the day and the mercury was at its peak making life tough for residents, who had a spell of comfortable and pleasant weather till a few days back.
The humidity was recorded between 18 per cent and 47 per cent, the MeT office said.
The Weatherman has predicted similar weather conditions for tomorrow as well with the maximum and minimum temperatures to be around 42 and 29 degrees respectively.
