Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta today served notice to another Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) MLA after his party moved Bhokta to disqualify him as he resigned from JVM and joined the BJP.

"Phoolchand Mandal (Sindri MLA) has been served notice and asked to reply by tomorrow on the basis of JVM's letter seeking his disqualification under the anti-defection law," Bhokta said.

Pradip Yadav, the JVM's legislative party leader, petitioned to the Speaker claiming that Mandal had given his resignation letter to the party and joined the BJP, "which invites disqualification under the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution."

The Speaker had on August 2 served notices to Nirbhay Kumar Sahabadi (Giridih constituency), Jai Prakash Singh Bhokta (Semeria), Chandrika Mahata (Jamua) and Samresh Singh (Bokaro), seeking their replies based on JVM's demand for their disqualification after they announced to join the BJP.
