The city recorded a maximum of 37.5 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal for this time of the year, the Met office said.

The minimum settled at 28.5 degrees Celcius, two notches above normal, it said, adding that humidity oscillated between 54 and 83 per cent during the last 24 hours.

Rain has been eluding the capital for the last few days as the city received no showers even yesterday.

However, the Weather office forecast rains in some parts of Delhi tomorrow.

"The skies will remain cloudy and some parts of the city are expected to get light rainfall or thundershowers," it said.
