In yet another major reshuffle in the wake of criticism of the law and order situation, the Uttar Pradesh government today transferred 44 PPS officers.
According to home department spokesman, the government has transferred 44 Provincial Police Service (PPS) officers of the rank of DySPs.
The districts affected by today's transfers are Allahabad, Varanasi, Meerut, Sitapur, Ghazipur, Kannauj, Gonda, Maharajganj, Azamgarh, Ballia, Fatehpur, Rampur, Kheri, Ambedkarnagar, Faizabad, Bahraich, Basti, Barabanki, Kanpur and Etawah.

The government had on Saturday last transferred 42 IPS officers of the rank of IGs, DIGs and district police chiefs.
