The transfer in Home Ministry has been making news for past one month. On September 1, Additional Secretary Anant Kumar Singh, also from Uttar Pradesh cadre, in the Home Ministry was shifted to Petroleum Ministry as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, only eight months after he had come on a Central deputation.
The government had also replaced L C Goyal by Rajiv Mehrishi as Home Secretary on August 31. Goyal was barely seven months in the office, which has two-year fixed tenure. Interestingly, Mehrishi was appointed to the post on the day he was due to superannuate.
