Ansal Properties posts Rs 62 lakh profit in Mar quarter

Realty firm Ansal Properties and Infrastructure today reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 0.62 crore in the quarter ended March 31 as against a loss of Rs 36.67 crore in the year-ago period.

Its total income fell by 25 per cent to Rs 261.09 crore in the fourth quarter from Rs 349.82 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, it said in a filing to the BSE.

During the full 2014-15 fiscal, Ansal Properties net profit jumped more than threefold to Rs 20.44 crore from Rs 5.94 crore in the year-ago period.

Total income from operations dropped by 22 per cent to Rs 1,109.28 crore in last fiscal from Rs 1,414.45 crore in the 2013-14 financial year.

NTPC, IIT-B ink MoU for cooperation

* State-run NTPC and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay have inked an MoU to cooperate in areas of mutual interest mainly solar power.

"NTPC and IITB have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for R&D in the areas of mutual interest mainly Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Process improvement & Heat transfer, Robotics etc. In Mumbai recently," a statement said.

Under this MoU, joint R&D projects will be taken up for development of new technologies, performance improvement etc.

Essar Foundation, NSDC ink pact to train youth * Essar Foundation, the CSR arm of multinational conglomerate Essar, has signed an agreement with with the National Skill Development Corporation to provide job-oriented vocational training.

In the first phase, 1,000 youth across eight cities will be provided training in customer service, tele calling and marketing & sales skills.

Essar Foundation will provide funds to the tune of fund Rs 40 lakh to the programme. It will also extend support in ensuring linkages towards employing the trained youth.
