Anti-corruption officials appointed in two power PSUs

Anti-corruption officials were today appointed in two key public sector undertakings under the Power Ministry.

Senior bureaucrats V K Saksena and Birendra Kumar have been appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO)--who act as distant arm of Central Vigilance Commission to check corruption--in Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and Power Finance Corporation respectively, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.

Saksena is an Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax cadre) officer and Kumar belongs to Indian Audit and Account Service. Both are 1984 batch officers.

Saksena has been appointed for a period up to November 30, 2018 i.E. The date of his superannuation. Whereas, Kumar will have an initial deputation tenure of three years which is extendable for a further period up to January 31, 2020 i.E. the date of his superannuation, with the prior approval of CVC and DoPT, the order said.
