"All the movements and agitation against corruption we are seeing lack spiritual guidance", Swami Nischalananda Saraswatiji Maharaj, Shankaracharya of Govardhan Matt, told reporters here.
"These gentlemen can go to politicians and leaders for discussion but they have not come to any spiritual leaders for the purpose," he said.
He was also of the view that reservation was an "obstacle to progress" and leads to loss of national talent.
"Reservation is leading to loss of national talent and acts as an obstacle to the progress of country. It is practically not feasible as there are less seats and more people. All these factors are not good for an independent country," he claimed.
The need for reservation even after 65 years of independence shows the "failure" of the government, he said.
