The Madhya Pradesh High Court today granted pre-arrest bail to Congress leader K K Mishra in a criminal defamation case.

The relief was granted by a bench of Justice Atul Sreedharan here.

Bhopal resident Sanjay Nayat had filed the complaint of defamation against Mishra over the latter's allegations against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's wife.

The MP Congress's chief spokesperson had alleged that the state government leased a manganese mine in Balaghat district to Chouhan's wife by flouting rules.

Mishra had levelled the allegations at a press conference in Bhopal on June 11 last year, said his lawyer S Shekhar.
