Filmmaker Antoine Fuqua has parted ways with Universal's reimagining of the classic gangster tale "Scarface".

The decision has been taken due to a scheduling conflict with Sony's sequel to "The Equalizer," reported Entertainment Weekly.

Universal is now in search of a new helmer for what would be the third big-screen incarnation of "Scarface".

According to Variety Diego Luna is attached to star in the film. Terence Winter wrote the most recent draft of the script.

The movie is a reimagining of the core immigrant story told in both the 1932 and 1983 films. The new film will be set in Los Angeles and will focus on a Mexican immigrant.
