Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal S B Deo called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma (Retd) and Chief Minister Nabam Tuki here today and discussed various issues pertaining to the Indian Air Force operations in the state.
Deo, during a meeting with the Governor, discussed on air connectivity and Advance Landing Grounds (ALGs) in the state, a Raj Bhawan communique informed.
They also discussed on dual use of ALGs including civilian aircraft and helicopter services.

During a meeting with Tuki, Deo gave a detail explanation on the status of various landing grounds coming up in Arunachal Pradesh of which the airport at Pasighat is expected to be ready by December this year, an official communique informed.
Using 'google map', the Air Marshal informed about the proposed projects of the Air Force to be taken up in Arunachal Pradesh and requested cooperation from the state government, especially in acquisition of land.
The chief minister assured him of all possible cooperation from the state government and requested the Indian Air Force to lend helping hands to the people of the state on times of need.
Deo said the Indian Air Force is ever ready to be of any help and assured chopper services in times of emergency or on request of the state government.
Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi and Commissioner to CM Thajam Taloh were also present during the meeting, the communique said.
