Loksatta Party has said the rejection of the AP Reorganisation Bill in Andhra Pradesh Assembly today will have a merely procedural impact.

"The Bill in its current form is a travesty of federalism by the Centre, as it turns a blind eye to the consequences of bifurcation. All political parties except Loksatta are using the bifurcation issue for their own selfish gains completely ignoring the impact on the people," party's national president Jayaprakash Narayan said.

The party has suggested key amendments to the Bill which ensure a fair and quick solution to the process, he said.

"The Centre must take note of what we have recommended and incorporate the changes that we suggested if it is really interested in the welfare of the people. Loksatta Party's solution concentrates on providing a viable formula for all regions to benefit," Narayan said.

"Failing this, Seemandhra will face grievous fiscal problems, the progress of Telangana will be stalled and Rayalaseema will be stuck in a quagmire," he said.
