AP cabinet okays committee for Vision 2030 document

The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet has approved constitution of a Committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to prepare a Vision 2030 document for the state.

This is in continuation of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki's initiative to plan from the grass-root a document for overall and holistic development of the state in all spheres, state government spokesman Nabum Rebia said in a statement here today.

Tuki at the beginning of this year had presented a Vision 2013 document outlaying the government's priorities and strategies for this year.

He has been emphasising on proper planning and a recorded document to act as a benchmark as well as a guiding force for implementation of the visions of the government.
 

The Cabinet in its sitting yesterday, under the chairmanship of Tuki, has directed each and every department to prepare a vision document enlisting their respective priorities till 2030 and the means to achieve them.

The issue of establishment of headquarters for Lower Siang district also figured during the meeting.

The Committee will be headed by PWD, Planning and Finance Minister Chowna Mein as Chairman with Agriculture Minister Setong Sena, Power Minister Tanga Byaling, Parliamentary Secretary (Planning & Development) Nabam Rebia and Parliamentary Secretary (PWD) T N Thongdok as Members.

The cabinet also decided to include constitution of a Rubber Board and State Housing Board besides approval to award the officials and departments performing exceptionally in revenue collection, the statement said.
