AP capital foundation laying ceremony: CM greets Naidu

: Chief Minister N Rangasamy today wished his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chandrababu Naidu success and happiness on the occasion of laying of foundation of the state's new capital Amravati in Guntur district.

Speaking to reporters after laying the foundation of a Rs 10 crore multi storied residential complex for sanitary workers in neighbouring Vazhaikulam village, the CM said he had received an invite from Chandrababu Naidu to attend the foundation laying ceremony, but could not go there due to pressing official engagements

Yanam, an enclave of Puducherry, is in Andhra Pradesh.

The CM said government had designed the housing complex for sanitary workers through Puduchery Slum Clearance Board. All families who had earlier been staying in the recently demolished old building would be re-allotted houses. Around 100 families would be accommodated in the complex which would come up in the next one year, he said.
 

Local Administration Minister N G Panneerselvam,chairman of Slum Clearance Board P.Karthikeyan MLA, local legislator K Lakshminarayanan and officials and legislators were also present.
