Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials here today to complete Godavari Pushkaram 2015 related preparations on time, to ensure that there would be inconvenience to pilgrims who throng the state.
Naidu directed officials to speed up works and take all necessary steps to complete them on time before the event begins from July 14 on the Godavari river for 12 days, when which lakhs of people throng to take holy dip as well as perform religious rituals.
Naidu arrived at Madurupudi airport here on his way West Godavari district and directed officials to maintain good work standards and not cause any inconvenience to pilgrims.
After Naidu inquired about progress of works in the district, East Godavari District Collector H Arunkumar briefed him about works taken up by various departments.
Earlier, Naidu was received at the airport by the district collector, AP Irrigation Minister D Umameheshwara Rao as well as other officials.
Later, Naidu left for the West Godavari district by helicopter.
