AP CM presents silk sarees to Goddess Kanaka Durga

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu today presented silk sarees to Goddess Kanaka Durga here on behalf of the state government.

It is tradition that on behalf of State Government, the Chief Minister presents silk sarees on the eve of Dasara every year and particularly on the day of 'Mulanakshatram' - the birth day of the goddess.

Naidu performed 'pooja' inside the sanctum sanctorum.

The Chief Minister told reporters that he has sought blessings of the goddess for successful construction of the new capital 'Amaravati' without any hurdles.

He also said 'a master plan will be prepared for the development of Kanaka Durga temple'.
 

"This year 'Dasara festival' was celebrated as a state festival and the same will be continued in the future," Naidu said, adding from next year the festival will be celebrated on lines of the Mysore Dasara festival.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay foundation stone of the new AP capital on October 22. The AP government is aiming to make the programme a grand one.
