Taking potshots at Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K Chandrashekhar Rao for opposing allotment of iron ore mines to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), which is a Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd enterprise, the chief minister wondered what is wrong if mines are given to a public sector enterprise.
He alleged that when the mines were allotted to private players earlier, the TRS president remained silent.
The TRS had recently opposed the allotment of mines to the VSP, alleging that Telangana's mineral wealth is being "given away" to VSP which is situated in the coastal Andhra region.
Reddy asserted that his government would not cancel the allotment of mines to VSP as being demanded by the TRS.
