Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will embark on his first "official" foreign visit, to the US, beginning on Thursday.
P V Ramesh, who retired from service last month as the Chief Ministers Special Chief Secretary but holding no official post now, will accompany Jagan on the tour from August 15 to 24, official sources here said.
"Though this visit is official, the Chief Minister would like to attend some of his personal work in the US and, in the highest traditions of propriety, he intends to bear the entire expenditure to be incurred towards air tickets, internal travel, hotel accommodation, etc. from his own finances for which, no budgetary provision was made by the government," General Administration Department (Political) Principal Secretary R P Sisodia said in an order on Wednesday.
During the visit, the Chief Minister will meet US senior government officials, entrepreneurs, investors, thought leaders, academicians, World Bank officials and members of Indian community in that country, Sisodia said in the order.
Jagan will attend a meeting arranged by the American Telugu Association at the Dallas Convention Centre on August 17.
No other details of the Chief Ministers programmes during the foreign visit have been disclosed.
