AP CM urges NITI Aayog to reschedule governing council meet

: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today urged NITI Aayog to defer its Governing Council meeting, scheduled for June 17, to the next day in view of Ramzan festivities.

The Chief Minister, in a letter to NITI Aayog vice-chairman Rajiv Kumar, said Ramzan would be celebrated on June 16, followed by Eid-e-Milap on June 17.

"As Chief Minister, I am required to be present in the state capital for these festivities. So, please postpone the Governing Council meeting either to the 18th or at least 17th afternoon," Naidu wrote.

A Telugu release from the CMO said the Chief Minister reviewed with senior officials the issues to be raised in the NITI Aayog GC meeting.

 

He directed officials to prepare a detailed report on the state bifurcation-related issues, fund flow for various Central projects, special financial assistance for backward districts and the quantum of assistance being extended to the state for various centrally-sponsored schemes.

Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, K Kala Venkat Rao, K Atchannaidu, Chief Commissioner of Land Administration Anil Chandra Punetha and other senior officials attended.
