Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today directed officials to sell onions at Rs 20 per kilogram in all farmers' bazaars across the state after onion prices rose sharply.
Naidu, who reviewed the onion price situation with officials instructed them to ensure that onion supplies reach government-run farmers bazaars where vegetables and other essential food items are sold at economical prices by tomorrow, a state government release stated.
"The Chief Minister has instructed officials to ensure that supplies reach Rythu Bazaars by tomorrow and they begin selling at Rs 20 per kg from Wednesday," the release stated.

The Chief Minister asked officials to ensure that traders do not stock up supplies in order to divert it to the black market, the release stated.
"There should be a strict monitoring mechanism. Black marketers will have to face stringent action if found guilty of cartelisation," Naidu stated as per the release.
Later, the Chief Minister held a review meeting with senior officials on the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Project and other projects. He directed that works on the project be completed by August 15 this year, the release stated.
