Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy requested the Centre today to extend by one month the deadline for digitisation in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
Reddy, who wrote a letter to the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, said that an estimated 50 lakh viewers in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam cities are yet to get the set-top boxes installed.
As the deadline for digitisation ends on March 31, he requested the Centre to extend the time by one month to enable cable TV viewers of Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam to fix the set-top boxes, according to a release from the chief minister's office.
