The Advocates Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Andhra Pradesh's Seemandhra districts are contemplating to fight the Telangana issue in Supreme Court.

"Our battle will be shifted to Delhi where we will take up legal fight against the formation of Telangana by approaching Supreme Court," advocates' JAC convenor and Vijayawada Bar Association president M Jayakar Babu said here today.

The Bill to carve out Telangana, the 29th state, by splitting Andhra Pradesh was on Tuesday passed by the Lok Sabha with Congress and BJP coming together on the issue, amidst din and chaos.

"We are waiting for the outcome of Rajya Sabha proceedings and based on that a petition will be filed in Supreme Court," he said, adding that the people of Seemandhra have an option and a final battle can be fought before the apex court.

On resuming the court duty, from which the lawyers have been abstaining for nearly 200 days, he said that it would be finally decided on February 22 during the general body meeting of the Seemandhra Advocates JAC here.

Meanwhile, the government employees from Seemandhra districts resumed their duties today.
