AP government mulling setting up Road Safety Council: Minister

The Andhra Pradesh Minister for Transport, Roads and Buildings Sidda Raghava Rao today inaugurated the 27th National Road Safety Week here and spelt out its intent to start various new initiatives for improving road safety.

The state government is now considering to constitute a Road Safety Council and also to construct one scientific driving track for each district, he said.

The state is also mulling to institute a 'Road Safety Fund' with a corpus amount of Rs 10 crore, he said.

He advised the officials to conduct safety awareness camps regularly.

State Water Resources Minister D Umamaheswara Rao, S Balasubramanian, Transport Commissioner also participated in the programme.
