Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan directed officials today, to take all precautions during the Godavari Pushkaram river festival, due to the large number of pilgrims expected to take a holy dip in the 12-day event, on the banks of the Godavari river from July 14.
The Governor visited Pushkhar and Kotilingala banks of the river and directed officials to erect a separate queue system for pilgrims to take the holy dip.
He said that officials have taken all initiatives to complete work on time as well as maintain separate toilets and dressing rooms for ladies.
The Governor said that divers and expert swimmers would be kept ready near the river as a precautionary measure.
