The committee appointed by the Andhra Pradesh government to enquire into the alleged suicide of a student in Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, continued its investigation into the incident today.

Comprising retired IAS officer Balasubrahmanyam and three academicians, the committee met students and others in the university as part of its mandate.

The panel, constituted by the AP government on July 27, has been mandated to submit its report within five days.

Rishiteswari, a first year B Arch student, allegedly committed suicide on July 14 in her hostel room due to ragging by seniors, after which parents of the student and student groups demanded justice for her.

The committee's report would include assessment of action taken and recommendation about further action to be taken in the specific case.
