The Andhra Pradesh Government today asked Tamil Nadu to resume Telugu medium and the option of choosing Telugu as second language in schools in the state.
Andhra Pradesh Information, Culture and Telugu language Minister Palle Raghunadha Reddy met Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah and the state's Education and Tamil language Minister K C Veeramani in Chennai and urged that Telugu medium and Telugu as second language should be continued in Tamil Nadu schools.
Veeramani responded positively to the request and assured Reddy that he will hold a meeting on September 30 on Telugu, a release issued by Reddy's office said.

The Tamil Nadu government has reportedly decided recently to discontinue with Telugu in its schools.
Noting that Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have similarities, Reddy said the AP Government is encouraging Tamil medium in Chittoor district.
The AP Government is publishing exam papers even if there is just one Tamil student, Reddy said.
The minister was accompanied by Telugu associations in Tamil Nadu, it added.
