Andhra Pradesh Biswabhusan Harichandan paid anofficial visit to the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) here Wednesday.
On his maiden visit to the ENC, the governor was received by Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain,Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ENC at INS Dega where he reviewed a ceremonial guard of honour.
The governor held discussions with the Commanding-in-Chief,Eastern naval command, and was given a comprehensive briefing on the capabilities of the Indian Navy and the role and responsibilities of ENC.
Later the governor was taken by boat on a harbour familiarisation sortie which was followed by a visit to the indigenously built stealth frigate INS Shivalik and a submarine where he was given a guided tour and an overview on the operational capabilities of the Navy's frontline units, a navy release said.
The governor, who arrived here on a two-day visit, will proceed to Andhra university Thursday where he will be felicitated.
Later he will visit Visakhapatnam port and leave for Gannavaram.
