Reddy said in his order that "the negligence of the production unit of TV serial is evident from the nature of accident".

While six persons, including a ten-day-old boy, were killed when the blaze from a makeshift shed erected by a local shooting unit engulfed a nearby residential apartment at Puppalguda under Rajendranagar mandal on Sunday night, a seriously injured woman, identified as G Anantha Padma, succumbed to her injuries yesterday.

The toll rose to eight today after Anantharamamma (61), who had suffered 80 per cent burns in the incident, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital here, Narsingi police said.

In his order, Reddy directed the Ranga Reddy district collector, the Director General of AP State Disaster Response and Fire Services department and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to file their respective Action Taken Reports (ATRs) and spell out the measures being initiated for rehabilitation of victims and also further course of action by November 30.

According to police, a makeshift shed was used for storing film shooting equipment and the plastic material dumped near the film and TV sets caught fire first.

The blaze, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, engulfed the first three floors of the five-storeyed apartment even as fire department personnel rescued 15 people from the building.

Andhra Pradesh government has already directed the State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department to conduct an inquiry into the incident.
