Andhra Pradesh Health Minister K Srinivas today appealed to citizens to utilize the services offered for timely medical care to pregnant women in the state.

"The state government would provide free CT scan test twice to all pregnant women from March 1," Srinivas said in a press release.

"The pregnant women should also avail the free-of-cost '102 Mother and Child Express' service to reach their residence from the hospital after the delivery," he said.

"Under this service, ambulance would reach the hospital where the mother gave birth within 30 minutes after making a call on toll-free number 102. It would carry her to her residence along with a medical staff," he said.

He said the government has decided to fill vacant posts of 500 doctors in Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and 1,000 nurses in the state.
